There is a growing emphasis on green travel and eco hotels are in the limelight. These eco hotels are the ones who have achieved landmarks in the hospitality sector with their eco friendly operations.
The Carlson Hotels Worldwide is a company of eco hotels like Radisson, Country Inn & Suites, Park Inn, and Park Plaza hotels who have distinguished themselves in the eco friendly sector. They have signed on the United Nations Global Compact and they have a hotel loyalty program, Goldpoints Plus which partners with CarbonNeutral Company to make their eco hotels the image for other hotels to follow.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts are another group of eco hotels which began their campaign very early. In fact their Green Partnership program was started in 1990 when hardly anyone in the industry was paying attention to eco friendly practices. They have shown commitment towards waste management, energy, and water conservation. They also partner with the World Wildlife Fund and promote a "Climate Savers" program.
