Information for New Users  There are two distinct purposes for the site

  • To define Projects  that can be used by volunteers with minimum previous experience to build up a detailed picture of wildlife and habitat in a parish. These are practical projects defined on the website They will also exist as packs that can be given to people that do not have access to the website. This section is far from complete. Everyone is encouraged to keep a 'Wildlife Diary' to allow us to build up a picture of the wildlife in the local environment.
  • To provide information on local issues relating to wildlife and habit in the local parishes. This information is also growing all the time, but consists of:

Library- Links to sources of information on the internet
Nature Notes - Interesting pieces of information on a range of species or habitats that will eventually be used in supporting the practical projects
Meetings- details of meetings, talks, visits, training sessions etc
Parishes- Feedback from parishes taking part in the Parish-Wildlife Project, in the form of reports at regular intervals. These also contain species records and photographs from outdoor meetings
Schools- Information for and about environmental projects within local schools, including a service to provide information on request for future projects.
Visits- Summaries and photographs of activities, visits arranged within the project
Artwork- Portfolios of local artists involved in presenting visual information on wildlife and habitat.
Photographers - A gallery or portfolio for individual photographers. Species ID is not important for this section, but eventually the photographs will be used with full ID and species information within Projects.
